Beehive Baby Blanket Explanation (Not a full pattern)

You can feel the summer vibes with this beautiful new baby blanket

Made up of hexagons, half hexagons and then a baby bee added with a border that adds a textured bump. I made this for one of my close friends for her first baby shower and every crocheter at the party was blown away by it.

This will not be a full pattern but if does provide enough information to create your own. I do not remember the hook size, exact colors of yarn, exact number of pieces, stitch count on boarder so you will need to use your own creativity in the completion of your own blanket.

Because I don't remember the hook size or number of pieces used you can easily adjust the size of this blanket. Make it a crib blanket like I did or make it as large as a California king if you want.

The hexagon, half hexagon and bee are not my patterns, but all patterns are available for free. A full skein of 3 ply sport weight baby yarn in 4 different colors for the honey comb. You will also need a small amount of black and yellow for the bee. And about half a skein of white for the bee and border.

I began with the hexagons. I made them 7 rounds large. Once I had enough half hexagons for the size I wanted I made the half hexagons to fill in the sides.

Once I had all the pieces made (except the bee) I arranged the pieces in a way I liked and began attaching them by a SC in white, doing top loop only to create a little bump between the honey combs. I did this all the way around, attaching each side to the correct corresponding side of another.

The border was made with HDC around making 2 HDC, chain 1, 2 HDC in the corners.

If you do decide to make this I would love to see your projects. Please comment below with your pictures. Also if you need any further explanation on this please comment and I will be happy to help.
