Crochet Bikini Bottoms Pattern

This pattern works up fast and is easy to modify to make bigger or smaller. The pattern will make about a size M adult. I will eventually post a pattern in all sizes.

Bikini is for sun tanning and hanging out only; it will not hold up well in water

Bikini is worked from front to back with the main color made as one continuous piece and then the contrast color is added one in one additional piece.

Materials:
6 mm hook
2 colors of 4 ply yarn acrylic
Scissors
Tapestry needle
Sewing needle*
Small amount of fabric*

*=Only needed if you wish to line it. I do highly recommend this

Crochet stitches
Hdc=half double crochet
Sc=single crochet
Hdc2tog=half double crochet two together

Start with main color
Row 1: chain 45, skip 1st hdc in second to end (44)
Row 2: chain 1, hdc2tog hdc to second to last hdc2tog (42)

Repeat row two until you have 10 stitches

Chain 1 hdc across (10)

Repeat 9 times

Chain 1, 2 hdc in first hdc to end, 2 hdc in last stitch (12)

Repeat until there are 60 stitches. Fasten off

Contrast color

Chain 60, attach one of the back corners of the bikini. SC across the back, one SC in each hdc.

At the end chain 61, SC into the second chain and to end. At the end continue to SC down the side of the bikini.

 When you reach the edge of the front chain 61, SC into the second chain to the end.

 At the end of the chain SC across the front of the bikini to the next edge. Chain 61, SC into the chain to the end

At the end of the chain SC down the side until you reach the back and the first chain. SC up the first chain and fasten off.

Use tapestry needle to clean up strings. Use sewing needle and fabric to add in a lining to the "middle" of the bottoms.
